While in Santa Barbara for an amazing photography conference, I had the privelage of working with an incredible photographer named Mike Larson. He specializes in Estate and Vineyeard weddings, and he shared his passion with 20 photographers one early morning at the most incredible venue I have ever seen to date: Sunstone Winery. My eyes were like a small child on Christmas morning running down the stairs to see what Santa brought! It was stunningly beautiful, even in the thick, mysterious fog that blanketed itself over the estate.
What was more magical was watching the sun rise over the hilly estate, as the fog lifted to reveil the most stunning landscape I could ever dream of. I have a reallllly big soft spot for Wineries. I very much enjoy trying new wines, learning about how it is made and walking through beautiful vineyards. This one made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
We were lucky enough to be able to photograph a couple of beautiful models who are actually photographer’s themselves, but they sure made beautiful models!
It was a different experience having 20 different photographers direct the same two models, but it forced everyone to get creative with angles and positioning! Here were some of my favourite portraits from that morning…
HUGE thank you to Mike Larson for being passionate about teaching, learning and giving! I am so grateful to have had this experience! 🙂
