THE BLOG

good vibes only

Travelling is my number one passion in life.  Going out and exploring a new place, meeting new people, and experiencing a new culture gives me the best kind of thrill.

For most of February, I was lucky to be able to travel with four amazing ladies from work: Briar, Lindsay, Jenny and Mel.  We had the most amazing trip ever!  ON our drive from Managua to Leon, we stopped for our first view of a live volcano!

We started the trip in Leon, where we stayed at Bigfoot Hostel, and went Volcano Boarding.  It was epic. CNN agrees, as it is #2 on their top 50 Thrill Seeking Experiences! http://travel.cnn.com/explorations/play/50-thrilling-experiences-116798

Leon is rich in history and culture, and has some incredible beautiful buildings and architecture!

From Leon, we made our way down to Grenada, but made a stop at a Tree House hostel for one night first.  I must say, this was definitely the MOST interesting night of the trip.  Haha. There was dancing, bananagrams, painting our feet and leaving our mark on the ceiling, AND 4/5 of the brave girls (I was the chicken) ate nasty bugs… with the proof below.  The journey itself to get there was wild!  Character building though!

In Grenada we toured the Isletas and fed monkey’s!  It was such a great tour becasue it was with two local guys in a small non-touristy boat. It was really nice!  We stopped at a local families home where they cut fresh coconuts for us!

The tour ended with “Monkey Island, where we got really close the the wild monkey’s! Feeding my favourite animal my favourite food (coconut) was a highlight for sure!

Grenada also had beautiful, colourful buildings and architecture!  I wish we had one more day to explore here…

Okay, this is getting crazy long. Come back tomorrow for Part II (which is even better)!!! 🙂 Happy Monday!!
