I have been dying to go to New York City in the summer for the longest time. Finally at the end of the summer, we decided to make the short trip. It was so worth the wait 🙂 We were even lucky enough for my friend Jackie and her boyfriend to fly down to meet us from California!!
This trip was unreal, and went so beyond the photos. The nightlife, the comedy shows, the dancing, the broadway show Once, the amazing food, drinks, and hilariously small hotel room that we all squeezed into. But for now, I will highlight it with the photos I do have 🙂
Day One was spent with just Brent and I… and we walked a lottttttt. There is just so much to see and do in this city, and we just didn’t want to miss a thing! The High Line was a favourite stop for sure. SO many cool views of the city, including this awesome mural 🙂And at last…. Central Park!!!! I was so giddy excited. Looking at these just makes me want to go back so bad!Sunset in Central Park. What dreams are made of. I was just in awe that we were there! And I couldn’t wait to go back with jackie and Patrick. It is just such a HUGE park in the middle of the most massive city, and it does not feel like you are anywhere near a city when you are there! And it is so well kept… I just loved it.After Central Park, we went to Yankee Stadium for a baseball game! Advice… if you are going to a baseball game here… eat ahead of time. We missed the first 4 innings waiting in line. Epic fail. BUT then, we got to see the crazy awesome energy in this stadium and the fun Yankee fans! And then Brent’s day was made when he got to see Mariano Rivera pitch in one of his last home games! The crowd went nuts when he came out…. the guy beside me included.Day Two :
Jackie and Patrick arrived bright and early, and we were quick to start an epic day! We started by actually going to Brooklyn to the most amazing market ever! Our good friend Briar recommended this, and it did not disappoint!
The market overlooked Manhattan. It was such a hot and hazy day, but you can still get the idea 🙂 And this might actually be the greatest dessert I have ever tasted. An ice cream sandwich made with macaroons on the outside, vanilla ice cream and an almond, chocolate ganache…. I would go back just for one of those!!Finally, people pics! 🙂 This was actually a pretty cool trip, because Jackie had never met Brent before, and I had never met Patrick. So everyone got to meet all at once, and we had such a fun weekend. I am soooo happy they made it to the east coast!I love the small child above, just minding his business and playing with rocks. Too cute.
I always love my reunions with this girl. She is the ultimate travel buddy and is truly one of my favourite people in the world <3
And of course we had to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. For you Sex and the City fans, I just had to see where Steve and Miranda met in the middle! Actually, I will be honest… I imagined myself as one of the Sex and the City characters the whole trip. It’s fine lol.
Day Three:
Trip #2 to Central Park. Jackie and I have jumping pics from ever trip we have been on… I guess Brent and Patrick wanted to join in the tradition, lol!
Day Four:
The Top of the Rock…. pouring rain, but still so cool.
I could not have been happier to spend out weekend away with Jackie and Patrick! I can’t wait until we all meet up somewhere else in the world again soon!!
Much love 🙂
love it.
