I absolutely love photographing my friends.  Mel & Evan are no exception.

My blog readers might recognize Mel from my blogs on our NIcaragua adventures, as she was one of the 4 other girls who I went with!  We had an incredible time.  During the trip, we obviously harassed Mel about WHEN she thought she might get engaged! I mean, it has been 10 years this June 7, so we knew it HAD to be coming.  What NONE of us girls knew was that, while we are away, Evan was at home painting “WILL YOU MARRY ME” on their wall in their condo!

We got back to Toronto, and Mel was super bummed since her bags got lost on our crazy adventure, but was overjoyed when Evan was waiting for her on the other side of the gate!  Much to our dismay, it did not happen in the airport terminal when we arrived at like 11 pm.  Evan brought a teary-eyed Mel home only to find the best surprise of her life waiting for her. Notes and photos from their 10 years together surrounded the room, with the big “Will you marry me?” on the wall, and Evan even wrote a song for Mel and played it with the ukulele. Romantic right? *Sigh*

Okay, I might have tears in my eyes as I write this.  The very next day, I was at the hair dresser, and Mel called to share the news. Then my new hair dresser thought I has serious issues once I started bawling my eyes out and screaming oh my god, oh my god, oh my god in the chair.

Mel and Evan, words can’t express how happy I am for the two of you!!!  I had such a fun time running around the Lakeshore with you two! 🙂
