Chelsea is a dear friend who I met while working in Banff during university. A friend connected us, and thought we would make great roomies (thanks Jenn!!). That friend was so right, and it was the start of a really beautiful friendship. Chelsea is that friend you aspire to be like. She can master anything she tries, and has taught me more about life, love and well… baking, than words can really describe here. (Turns out making Rice Krispies squares doesn’t count as baking! Pfff).
When she met the love of her life, Stu, I was over the moon for them and couldn’t wait to meet this special guy. Stu could not be a nicer person, and instantly makes you feel like an old friend right away. I am so grateful that he was the one.
This day was a DREAM. For real. I actually can’t even tell you how many times while planning our own wedding, that I have thought, could we not pick up every detail of this day and bring it a bit closer to home? Haha. It was such a beautiful backyard wedding… and well, Nanaimo is pretty amazing!! The intimate space that was so familiar in the home Chelsea grew up in, bridemaids putting together the bouquets the day before and morning of the wedding from pieces they bought, and pieces they found around the yard, perfectly mismatched place settings, friends to BBQ, a mom who is seriously the most incredible cook/baker/kitchen mastermind, a dance floor made with love, string lights, amazing people and all the love. It was perfectly them, and perfectly wonderful in every.single.way.
Thanks for letting me capture your beautiful family and all the love on this day… it is one of those days that has stayed close to my heart and will for a long time.
Love you two.
